Based in San Francisco/Silicon Valley, California, Pathfinders Capital is a DeepTech and Enterprise IT VC firm that provides capital to early-stage entrepreneurs and guides them in idea to product to market strategy to venture capital journey. We invest where fundamental technical progress enables entirely new products, infrastructure, industrial capabilities or brand-new markets.

DeepTech companies rarely begin as conventional small startups. They often begin with a technical insight, engineering and test-bench based experimental results, science breakthrough or capabilities whose commercial implications are not yet obvious.

Pathfinders Capital works with deeply technical founders during this formative period and injects early-stage capital to prepare the company and the founders for later stage venture capital.

We back technical inflection points - not consensus narratives. Pathfinders Capital seeks founders challenging entrenched assumptions through fundamental advances in computing, engineering, science and technology. 

We are most interested when a technical breakthrough creates capabilities that were previously impossible, uneconomic or impractical.

A formidable technology without a founder mentally prepared to spend the next decade or so building a business around it is not a venture opportunity.

We evaluate not only what has been invented, but why this team can build it, whether they understand the problem space better than others, whether they are driven to sacrifice personal comfort, whether they can execute relentlessly, and whether they can survive long grueling hours to build a venture scale company.
